Course Description:

​

This course is designed to teach Law Enforcement officers, leaders, and trainers how to prepare for and respond to an Active Shooter Incident in the role of a Rescue Task Force (RTF). The program addresses both integrated Police/Fire/EMS rescue and Police only rescue. Participants will develop a thorough understanding of Rescue Task Force concepts, roles, and responsibilities, as well as tactics for rapid deployment, team movement, threat assessment, triage, and fundamental medical interventions. In addition, participants will learn how to work with their local Fire and EMS partners in preparation for such events in an effort to build a preplanned unified response.

Prerequisites:

​

While this course is intended and developed for Law Enforcement Personnel, the material covered benefits any first responder who may find themselves involved in Rescue Task Force Operations. This course is open to Police, FIRE, and EMS personnel.

​Required Equipment:

​

Means to take notes if desired. PowerPoint available to any student. Bring a thumb drive if so desired.
