PATROL HOSTAGE RESCUE

Course Description:

When Officers respond to incidents where hostages are involved, it is critical they possess the training to manage the scene and then intervene if needed.  Hostage incidents are high risk and high liability and The handling and resolution of such incidents requires proper training and adaptability to the circumstances. Traditionally rescue tactics are taught primarily to tactical teams but the reality is most hostage incidents begin with a Patrol Response. Officers must be capable of controlling and de-escalating the situation while being able to deploy rescue tactics when opportunity or exigency presents itself. Emergency Rescue Tactics are a crucial skillset for Patrol Personnel.
